Maïa Spy has been a business lawyer since 2004, admitted to the Nanterre bar in 2004 and to the Paris bar in 2010. She speaks English fluently and has extensive experience working in the English language. She holds a Postgraduate in Business Law (University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne, 2002) and a Postgraduate in Litigation and Arbitration (University of Paris Panthéon-Assas, 2001).

After several internships and study periods in France and abroad (Leeds –UK and Helsinki –Finland), in January 2010 she started her career as an associate at the Competition and European Law Department of CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre before joining, in November 2010, the Competition and Distribution Department of Baker&McKenzie in Paris. In January 2015 she set up her own law firm: Spy Avocat.

In the last couple of years, Maïa has conducted several training sessions and presentations, for example during competition update roadshows organized by ACCE and Baker&McKenzie in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

She has also presented several webinars, in particular on State aids issues. Finally, she was a lecturer in competition law at Institut Catholique de Paris (Master of European Affairs and Lobbying) from 2004 to 2009. She has also actively participated in associations for competition lawyers.
